Explore the African bush and view animals in their natural habitats with our expert guides.
Get up close & personal!
Get up close and personal to nature in a way that you just can’t manage from a vehicle.
We depart the lodge early morning for a quick boat trip across to Kanyemba Island, where you will be taken on a game walk with one of our experienced guides.
The focus of our walks is on vegetation, tracks, and other signs of life on the island. Insects and birds are a feature, though it is not uncommon to see herbivores such as bushbuck, waterbuck, and even elephant while on foot. You will complete your walk at the Kanyemba Island Bush Camp ready for a transfer back to the lodge around 9.30am.
Guests must be fit enough to complete a walk of around 3.5 hours, and to move quickly if required. The ground is somewhat uneven, so sturdy shoes are best. Natural coloured clothing only (no white/bright colours), and a hat is recommended.
There is a minimum age of 12 years to participate in walking safaris.
